Lego minifigs--edible edition

If you've got one of these:

and that one is having a birthday, you need to get yourself to one of these:

Or, the website will do.  Whichever you choose, you should definitely purchase this:

As always, please excuse the pink countertops-I promise we are working on replacing them.  Anyway, after purchasing this, which is actually an ice cube tray, you should also buy some of these:

Next, melt the chocolate and fill the trays-the yellow faces and hands really make the minifigs convincing.

Then, you should pop them in the freezer, especially if you don't have air conditioning and it's summer.  In just a few minutes, you will have edible minifigs!!!

Again, ignore the countertop, I know it's hard.  Next, you should definitely have your chocolate minifigs line up for professional portraits:

You should also introduce them to the real minifigs, but it might confuse them:

Then, you should put them on cupcakes and serve them to a boy (or girl) who is celebrating a birthday!

Because, trust me they will love it!

That is a brilliant idea! They look so good. Have to wait patiently for my son (18 months) to be old enough to play with lego (and understand why sometimes it's ok to put the lego-men in your mouth, and other times it's not).

Thanks for your comment on Cook Clean Craft. I have the same childhood memories (and also trying to sneak off just the cherry during the parties!).

I have done 2 lego birthday parties for my boys. I even made my own lego mold. Now I'm going to have to go back and make my own lego FIGURE mold! These are so cute! I'd love it if you'd link up to my Topsy Turvy Tuesday's tomorrow!

We did a Lego birthday party last year and my son LOVED it. We're still Lego obsessed so I will definitely be looking for those ice cube trays. Did they have them in the Lego store?

Here's the link to my Lego party post. http://flexibledreams.blogspot.com/2009/12/how-to-host-lego-party.html

Thanks for all the kind words! These were so much fun to make and the boys (and my girls) loved them. I actually brought them to a pizza place where we ate dinner the night before the party and the guys there loved them!! Not too many things get a reaction from grown men!

The mold is availabe online, but I picked mine up at the lego store.

Hi :-) I stopped by via your link-up to Sumo's Sweet Stuff.
We have four sons whom are now all in their twenties. Last year they ALL complained that we did not give them anything Lego for Christmas ;-p We literally had more than a ten gallon Rubbermaid container FULL of Lego's, and a 5 gallon one of Duplo's.
At our house fire it seemed to be taking past forever for the firemen to come out of the basement. And when they did, it was to get cameras and go back in. We later learned that they were all admiring and taking pictures of our Lego city on the ten foot by _ wide table which my husband had built thinking it was going to be for his train track ... chuckle, chuckle!
There are just so many good things about kids playing with Lego's - fine motor skills, creativness, problem solving, learning to share, etc. Now if they would just keep all of their pieces in the designated area instead of one in the bottom of dad's work boots which he found at 6 a.m. ... yikes! chuckle, chuckle ....
